Internal Calm in External Storm

Do you find yourself anxious, worried?  Find that there is no peace, no comfort for your soul?  Just unrest on every hand.  Storms raging.

God wants you to walk in peace today.

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have.  And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God’s peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings.  His peace can do this far better than our human minds.”

Pray, “Jesus, I come to You bringing my anxiety, my worries, all of my cares and concerns.  I thank You that You see all that I am facing.  Thank You for taking my burdens.  You are my Burden Bearer. Thank You for Your Peace reigning in my heart and mind. In Jesus Name.

You have given it to God.   You have surrendered it all to Jesus. You are absolutely surrendered to Him.  You belong to Jesus. Now God’s peace- His peace that transcends understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

You will have an internal calm because Jesus lives in you.  He is your Prince of Peace.  He will give you peace as He sits enthroned on the altar of your heart.

You will have the internal calm to overcome every external storm that you may encounter.

Be Still

Are there situations and circumstances that are out of your control?  You are at a loss of exactly what to do?  You have prayed and cried. Cried and prayed, yet nothing seems to change.

God is saying be still and know that He is God.  In the midst of it all, God is speaking.  God is at work.  Know that He is in control.  Trust and know that He is at work – both to will and know for His satisfaction and delight.  He is Omnipotent and He is Omnipresent. His Eye is on the sparrow.

Know that He is watching you and everything that concerns you. In the workplace, God’s got you. In your home, God’s got you. In the ministry, He’s at work.

He is a Faithful God.  He can do anything but fail.  He is doing exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think in the lives of your loved ones.  Hold on.  Be still.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Let be and be still and know (recognize and understand) that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth”.

When we purpose to be still and know that He is God, it honors Him.  It gives God the liberty to move as He wills in your life.  There is so much that He desires to do and accomplish in and thru your life for His Glory.

Be still and know that He is God.

Calm In The Storm

Are you facing a storm in your life today? Are you in a storm right now? In the

middle of a downpour? Lightning crashing round about you?

It’s nothing like getting struck by lightning! Hit you without warning.  That’s what

happened to me when I got that call from my doctor with the diagnosis of breast

cancer. Unexpected!! Totally. Mammogram was negative 3 months prior. Struck

out of the blue! BAM!!! No way to run for cover. No time. But guess what??

Jesus is our Cover! He comes walking on the waters and He says to the storm,

“Peace. Be Still”! Welcome Jesus into your storm. He says, “Come unto me, all you

who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you

and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest for your

souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Isaiah 4:6 says, “And there shall be a pavilion for shade in the daytime from the

heat and for a place of refuge and a shelter from storm and from rain.”

Run for shelter today from the storms of life.  Run into the Arms of Jesus. I will say

of the Lord, He is my Refuge and My Fortress, my God, on Him I lean and rely and

in Him I confidently trust. Jesus will calm your storm. Find refuge in Him today!

Fear Not!

Is there something or someone you are afraid of today? COVID? Financial

insecurity? Job loss? Relationship woes? Afraid your child is going in the wrong

direction? So much on the news!

But God’s Word says “Fear Not”!

Isaiah 43:5 says, “Fear not. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you pass

thru the waters, I will be with you and through the waters I will be with you.  When you

walk thru the fire, you will not be burned.”

God is with you. God is for you. Put your hand in the Hand of Him who stills the

waters and calms the sea! Jesus Christ. He will never leave or forsake you. Keep

your eyes, your focus on Him continually. The Word says, who is man that you

should fear him and forget your God? Fear God alone. The fear of the Lord is the

beginning of wisdom. Perfect love casts out fear. Fear Not!

God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a strong

sound mind! Go for! In Jesus Name. You are fearless in Him.

Lord, Give Me Strength!

Often, we walk through moments in our lives where we simply are weak, without the physical, mental or emotional strength to go on.  Our strength is exhausted.  It seems that everything we do is without effect.

It is in these times that God is our Closest Companion, our Dearest Friend. When we cry out to Him, He renews our strength.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in Him) shall renew their strength and power, they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles (mount up to the sun); they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

When we spend time, in His Presence, our strength is refreshed and restored. He grants us the capacity to go forth and go on to face the challenges of life. In the posture of absolute surrender, He sustains us.

Habakkuk 3:19 says, The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk (not to stand in terror, but to walk) and make (spiritual) progress upon my high places (of trouble, suffering or responsibility).

In Jesus, we live and move and have our being. We are lost without Him. He is our Strength! A very present help in times of trouble. When we are weak, He is Strong!

Strength is defined as the capacity for an object or substance to withstand great force or pressure.

We are able to withstand the great force and pressures in life, hidden in Him, in the cleft of the Rock.

In His Presence is fullness of joy, in His right Hand are pleasures forevermore! You going thru pressures right now, no strength to push past the great forces coming at you?? Run to Jesus!! He’s got you!

Psalm 28:7 says, “The Lord is my strength and my (impenetrable) shield; my heart trust in, relies on and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him.”

Psalm 29:11 says, “The Lord will give unyielding and impenetrable strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.”

Dear Heavenly Father, bless my dear friend today, renew her strength as she turns to you. Thank you for being her impenetrable shield enabling her to withstand the forces and pressures of life. Thank you for blessing her with your peace today, in Jesus Name.

Now go MoBettaGirl, and conquer your world!

Lifeguard

There are times in life when you can get overwhelmed by situations and circumstances that you are facing. Are you facing insurmountable situations?  Have you felt like you are drowning?

The primary responsibility of a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. To safeguard and rescue people who get into difficulty. The lifeguard ensure safety by minimizing hazardous situations or behavior.

There is help when you are in danger of drowning. Jesus, our Lifeguard walks on the water!

Matthew 14: 29-31 says “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith, he said, “why did you doubt?”

He is a present help in time of trouble! There have been many times when I have cried out to God, “Save me!!” Facing the cancer diagnoses. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation treatments. Marital challenges, difficult decisions with no resolution in sight. Times when I have felt overwhelmed, the waters were overtaking me…way over my head. I cried out to Him. Jesus stills the waters and reaches out to me! What a Savior! He desires that I walk in a deeper place of faith in Him that I would walk on the waters with Him, overcoming life’s situations and circumstances.

Psalm 69:1-2 says, “Save me God, I am about to drown. I am sinking deep in the mud, and my feet are slipping. I am about to be swept under by a mighty flood.

Psalm 69:13-16 says, “But I pray to you, Lord in the time of Your favor in Your great love, O God answer me with Your sure salvation. Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink. Deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters. Do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me.

He hears you when you cry out to Him. He will never leave you or forsake you.

Isaiah 43:2 says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass thru the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk thru the fire, you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze.

He is with you. In the midst of overwhelming circumstances, where you don’t see a way out or a way through, Jesus is there with an outstretched Hand. He will come to you, walking on the waters. Nothing is too hard or too difficult for Him. Give it to Him. He quiets the waters. He strengthens you and enables you to walk on the waters with Him. You are an overcomer!

Thank you, Jesus for being my Lifeguard. You have guarded my life. You are My Protector, Defender and Hedge Round about me. You are the Glory and the Lifter of my head. Thank you for extending Your Hand, lifting me up from the flood waters of life circumstances that were engulfing me, keeping me from drowning. Thank you for making me an overcomer! I walk on the water with you. Thank you, Jesus.

If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, ask Him today. Say” Jesus, I am a sinner. I know that You died for me. I am sorry for my sins. Please come into my heart and be Lord and Savior of my life.

Now when you face seemingly insurmountable opposition, life circumstances that attempt to drown you, reach out to your King, your Lifeguard, Jesus and walk on the water with overcoming faith to conquer every situation. He is faithful!

Now go, Mo Betta Girl and conquer your world.

Complete Remission

Did you hear the great news? Complete remission! In the arena that we run in as breast cancer survivors, that is an excellent report! It is the report that we long to hear! All the treatments, surgeries and chemotherapy has worked!! The cancer is gone!! All the hard work was worth it!

Well, I have even greater news, dear friend! You and I have complete remission of our sins through Jesus Christ! We will spend Eternity with Him in Heaven when we have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior.

John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life!”

The word “remission” means the cancellation of a debt, charge or penalty. Jesus cancelled the debt, we owed for our sins by dying on the cross for us.

Isaiah 54:3 says “He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness: and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.”

Jesus is acquainted with our sicknesses and He understands what we have felt and experienced in our grief and pain.

Isaiah 54:4 says “Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains (of punishment), yet we (ignorant) considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God (as if with leprosy). “He bore on the Cross our sickness, distresses, agony and carried our pain and anguish on Himself.

Isaiah 54:5 says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement (needful to obtain) peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes (that wounded) Him we are healed and made whole.” We are healed and made whole because of His sacrifice on Calvary’s Cross.

Jesus paid the debt for my sins. A debt I could not pay! Complete and radical remission!! Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe!

That is what Jesus did for you and me, for complete remission of our sins. We will live eternally with Him. We are healed, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually! Radical Remission! He redeemed us once and for all! Alleluia!

If you want to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior pray this prayer with me, “Jesus, I am a sinner. I believe that You died on the cross for me. I repent of my sins. Thank you, Jesus for dying on the cross for me. Come into You my heart and be Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You Jesus that I will live for You and with You for all eternity. I love You. Jesus.

Dear Father, thank you for the gift of Your Son, Jesus in my friend’s life. Thank you for His sacrifice for the complete remission of our sins that we can enjoy eternity with You. Thank You for the gift of eternal life. In Jesus Name.

Now, MoBettaGirl that is what “Real” complete “Remission” is all about! Alleluia! Now, Go and Conquer Your world!

Trusting God in the Wait!

There are times in our lives when we simply don’t know what to do, which way to turn, which way to go.  No clear directions. No goals. These are the times we must wait on God. Be still and trust Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Lean, on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Sometimes, I find that being still and waiting on God’s timing the hardest thing to do. But I never go wrong waiting on Him.

Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord: and He inclined to me and heard my cry.

To be patient is the ability to accept or tolerate delays, problems or suffering without being annoyed or anxious. This sounds a lot like a cancer diagnosis and everything that it entails. It is so wonderful to know that God hears us when we cry out to Him.

Psalm 40:2 He drew me up out of a horrible pit (a pit of tumult and of destruction), out of the miry clay (froth and slime) and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my going.

God is able, as we seek His Face and spend time in His Presence, to draw us out of those dark, awfully dreadful places of fear and destruction. He draws us up and out of our despair and pain!! He brings us Light, clarity and stability. He gives us a safe, firm place to stand!! Alleluia!!

He turns our mourning to dancing! Turns our sadness to joy!

Psalm 40:3 And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord.

The song God puts in your mouth will be life changing and life altering to you!! It will transform you! It will bring you new life, new joy!!

When others see how God transforms your life and how He has changed you from the inside out, their lives will be forever changed as they turn to God in reverent fear and worship and put their trust in God!

Let God as you let go! Trust Him in this hour and wait with great expectation on Him. He will draw you up out of the place of dread and unrest. He will lead you safely to your firm place of rejoicing and peace.

Dear Heavenly Father be with my dear friend today. Hear her cry and draw her out of the miry clay and the pit that she finds herself in. Draw her out to a safe, firm place in You. A place of joy and peace. Father place a new song in her mouth, a song of praise and adoration of You. Allow her life to impact all those around her who beholds Your Work in her life and get Your Glory! In Jesus Name!

Now go, MoBetta Girl and conquer your world abiding in His Presence!!

From Barrenness to Fruitfulness

In your process, do you feel that you will be unable to produce, be fruitful or be productive again?

Do you have dreams, goals or aspirations unrealized, unfulfilled? Are you seeing and bearing meaningful fruit in your life? Are you seeing your dreams fulfilled, your heart’s desire accomplished? Do you feel barren?

God has a way of making us fruitful in a place of barrenness!

Luke 1:36-37 The angel exclaimed to Mary, “Listen! Your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son and this is now the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment!”

With God all things are possible. With God there is only fruitfulness and abundance.

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. As we spend time in His Presence, basking in His Joy, Peace and Love, He brings forth the fruit that remains. It is about putting God first in your life and abiding in Him.

John 15:4-5. Dwell in Me and I will dwell in you. (Live in Me, and I will live in you.) Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him, bears much (abundant) fruit. However apart from Me (cut off from vital union with Me) you can do nothing.

It’s in that place of dwelling in God, abiding in Him, moment by moment, step by step. Sometimes we get so caught up in our process, our lives that we forget about our God.  It is in Him that we live and move and have our being. In Him, nothing is too difficult. In Him is the fruit, the abundance we long for.

In God, our riches dreams are realized, our hearts desires fulfilled.

John 15:7-8 If you live in Me (abide vitally united to Me) and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will and it shall be done for you. When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.

It is God’s good pleasure that you and I are fruitful and multiply as we abide richly in Him, Our Vine. The fruit that we produce as branches, brings Him much Glory for it is fruit He produced through us as an extension of His Goodness and Love.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for blessing my dear friend today. Thank you for blessing her with the richness of all that You are. As she abides in You, thank you for producing through her fruit that will remain and bring You glory! Thank you, Father, that nothing is impossible with You. Thank you for bringing her to a place in You of richness, fruitfulness and abundance! In Jesus Name!
