BE THANKFUL!

Are you hurting today? Anxious today? Worried today, not knowing what tomorrow holds?

There is so much pain, so much turmoil in the world, in our lives.

Yet, there is A God that holds our very lives in His Hands. I encourage you to turn to Him.

When we find ourselves overwhelmed with burdens and worries about tomorrow, we can thank God for who He is and His promise to never leave or forsake us. We have been blessed with the free gift of salvation and eternal life in His Presence!

Psalm 107:1 says, “Oh, give thanks unto the Lord for He is good: for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.”

In the midst of all of our pain and suffering, God is still seated on His Throne. He alone holds our very lives in His Hands! We keep our eyes on Him. He is always with us, comforting, shielding, protecting us. We exalt Him above all and everything else and He brings us His peace. Our souls ache for His Presence and we thank Him with exuberant praise!

Psalm 107:22 says, “And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and rehearse His deeds with shouts of joy and singing.”

Do you know why it is called a “sacrifice of thanksgiving”? Because in the natural you will not feel like being thankful. When you look at yourself and all that you are walking through, all that you are experiencing, all that you are seeing in the world and in your world…it is difficult to be thankful. I implore you, shout thanksgiving to God!! Yes, it will be a sacrifice. But the fruit of the sacrifice of thanking God is experiencing His joy, His peace that surpasses understanding!! The sacrifice to our God is worth it!! He is worth it!!

1 Cor 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God who gives us the victory! (making us conquerors) through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We know Who holds tomorrow in His Hands. For the Lord is good. His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting. His love endures forever!

Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not have anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with THANKSGIVING present your requests to God, and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

So, my precious friend, let’s pray and thank God together today!

“Dear Heavenly Father, everything I face today I cast at your feet. Thank you, ABBA, Father for Your Goodness, your Faithfulness and Your Love for us. Thank you for being my Savior, my Deliverer, my Anchor, my Strong Tower, My Defender in battle. Thank you for being my Peace, my Healer, My Sustainer. You are my Everything. I thank you and I praise You for never leaving or forsaking me. I thank you for loving and caring for me when I could not love and care for myself. You are the very Breath I breathe. I worship You in Spirit and in Truth. Thank you for life, health and strength. Thank you that ALL Power is in Your Hands. I love You and I thank you today, In Jesus Name!”

Now go MoBettaGirl and conquer your world!

My Safe Place

Where is your safe place? Where do you retreat to for solace, protection and peace?

In the midst of facing a diagnosis of cancer with all the procedures, treatments, chemotherapy, side effects and the emotional toll of it all, it’s good to have a safe place!

When you are in your safe place, you are protected and not exposed to danger and not likely to be harmed.  A safe place is where something is not likely to be stolen or lost. A good place to be when you are troubled and afraid.

Psalm 28:7 says, “The Lord is my Strength and my (impenetrable) Shield, my heart TRUSTS IN, RELIES ON AND CONFIDENTLY LEANS ON Him and I am helped: therefore, my heart greatly rejoices and with my song will I praise Him.”

Jesus is my safe place. He makes me complete. Only He can satisfy my deep craving for security, for peace. In His Presence, there is peace in the midst of life’s storms. I find that when I am walking thru trials and tribulations, He is My Shield, My Refuge and My Guide. A very present Help in times of trouble.

Psalm 27:1 says, “The Lord is my Light and my Salvation- whom shall I fear or dread. The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?”

In your safe place, pour out your heart to Him. He is a God that hears and answers your prayers. Cast your cares upon the Lord and He will sustain you. He will never allow the consistently righteous to be made to slip, fall or fail!  He will meet you right where you are, in your safe place with Him and bring you peace, direction and refuge. Nothing compares to your safe place with Jesus.

Psalm 91:2, 9-11 says,” I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God, on Him I lean and rely and in Him, I confidently trust. Because you have made the Lord your refuge and the Most High your dwelling place. There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent. For He will give His angels (especial) charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways (of obedience and service).”

You will find that in your safe place there is no fear, no anxiety and no unrest. Doubt and trouble vanish! Peace and love prevail! You rest in confident trust in your God!

Habakkuk 3:19 says, “The Lord is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army: He makes my feet like hinds feet and will make me to walk ( not to stand still in terror, but to walk) and make spiritual progress upon my high places ( of trouble, suffering or responsibility).”

Dear Heavenly Father, we humbly ask You to be a safe place for my friend as she walks this journey through life. Thank you for hearing her cry, comforting her, loving her and granting her Your Peace. Thank you for being her Shield, her Strength and Refuge. In Jesus Name!

Now go Mo Betta Girl and conquer your world!

Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

What are you focused on today? What consumes your thoughts, your time and strength? Is it your battle with cancer? Your health? Your children? Your spouse? Your income or lack thereof? The pandemic? The racial divide of our country? The upcoming election and who will sit in the highest seat of the land? What has captured your heart?

Hebrews 12:2 says – “Looking away (from all that will distract) to Jesus, who is the Leader and the Source of our faith (giving the first incentive for our belief) and is also its Finisher (bringing it to maturity and perfection). He, for the joy (of obtaining the prize), that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Just think of Him, Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself (reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials), so that you may not grow weary or exhausted losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.

Keep your eyes on Jesus! The Author and Finisher of Your Faith! He will keep you in perfect peace as you keep your mind stayed on Him! Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind (both its inclination and its character) is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You and hopes confidently in You.

Purpose to focus on Jesus! Be guided by His Spirit. Seek His Face! He will guide you safely in life’s circumstances. Moment by moment. Step by step!

Psalm 121:1-3 I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.  He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber.

Psalm 123:1 Unto You do I lift my eyes, O You who are enthroned in heaven.

Psalm 125:1 Those who trust in, lean on and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever.

Psalm 34:5 They looked to Him and were radiant: their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.

What is so beautiful to realize and behold is that as we look to Jesus, we behold Him and all of His Glory and He looks upon us! He cares for you so deeply!

Psalm 33:18-22 says Behold, the Lord’s eye is upon those who fear Him (who revere and worship Him with awe), who wait for Him and hope in His mercy and loving-kindness.

Heavenly Father, be with my dear friend today. Thank you that as she looks to You, trust You and delights in You that You will give her the desires of her heart. Thank You for guiding her in Your truths, showing her the path that leads to peace and abundant life. Thank You for Your abiding Presence in her life as she keeps her eyes on You. In Jesus Name.

Now go, Mo Betta Girl, keeping your eyes on Jesus and conquer your world!!

Be Refreshed!

Are you weary and worn today? There is so much going on in the world today. The COVID pandemic, racial unrest, economic crisis, a nation divided. Where do you go to find rest, to find peace? To be refreshed?

We must turn our eyes and hearts to God. He alone is our Comforter, our Healer, our Redeemer. He is the ONLY Answer to our world today.

Acts 3:19 says, “ So repent (change your mind and purpose) turn around and return (to God) that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovery from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord.

Our air conditioning system is currently being repaired. The temperature in our home has soared at times to 86 degrees. There is nothing like the cool, fresh air to combat the effects of the heat!! That is what God wants to do in our lives!! He wants to bring the cool essence of His Presence into our everyday circumstances and refresh us anew!

Our focus must be on our God! When our gaze and focus are on the things of this world, we will get weary, worn out, beaten down from the heat of our existence. But, as we turn our gaze to Jesus, the One we adore, our Beloved Prince of Peace, peace reigns and refreshing comes.

Psalm 23 says, “The Lord is my Shepherd (to feed, guide, and shield me), I shall not lack. He makes me lie down in (fresh tender) green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness (uprightness and right standing with Him-not for my earning it, but) for His name’s sake.

Yes, though I walk through the (deep, sunless) valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod (to protect) and your staff (to guide), they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup runs over.

Surely or only goodness, mercy and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life and through the length of my days the house of the Lord (and His presence) shall be my dwelling place.”

God comes to refresh and restore us as we choose to turn to Him, abide in His Presence and bask in His love, in our daily lives.

Dear Heavenly Father, bless my sister today. Thank you that as she chooses to turn her eyes on You, You will comfort, refresh and lead her beside still waters. Thank you for refreshing and restoring her life, in Jesus Name!

Now go, MoBettaGirl, refreshed in Him, and conquer your world!

Trust God!

There is so much bombarding us today. COVID 19, racial injustice, shelter in place. Health concerns. Wearing masks. As a survivor what do you do? Who do you trust?

God is saying, “Be still and know that I am God!”.

I saw a movie recently, “HARRIET”. It was about the life of Harriet Tubman, a woman of God that led many slaves to freedom. She was running away from her slave owners that had plans to sell her. Her father had directed her to go to see the pastor and have him pray for her journey. The pastor admonished her to remember that “Fear is your enemy. Trust God”. Harriet found her way to freedom by listening to and obeying the voice of God. In doing so, she found her way to freedom and led many others to freedom as well.

Fear is your enemy! Trust God!

As you and I walk through our day to day lives, God wants us to know that He is our Protector and Shield! A Very Present Help! God says, “Fear Not!”.

God is trust worthy. He will never leave or forsake you.

Psalm 62:1-2,7. For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my Rock and my Salvation, my Defense and my Fortress. I shall not be greatly moved!

Proverbs 3:5-6. Lean on, trust in and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct and make plain your path.

We will shout in triumph at your salvation and victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.  Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in and boast of chariots and some in horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:5-7.

It is so important that we keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He will lead, guide and direct us by His Spirit. We trust and rest in Him.

Psalm 121:1-2,7. I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your life.

Trust God! Know that He is for you and with you today, tomorrow and always. Call on Him. He will answer. He will direct your paths!!

Now go MoBettaGirl , as you trust God and He will enable you to conquer your world!

Choose To Forgive

Often times we find ourselves holding onto weight in our lives. The weight of unforgiveness. We carry it in our soul and it trickles over to our physical being.

What weight are you holding onto today? Are you carrying around in your soul anger, bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness? Are you angry at God today over your diagnosis of breast cancer?

I found myself hurt and wounded and angry. What did I do to deserve this!! I tried to live right. I questioned God. There were instances where I was deeply hurt by someone and still am. If you live long enough it is bound to happen.

When we have been hurt or wounded, we need to find ourselves basking in the arms of Christ- where deep love, healing and restoration fills us, allowing us the liberty to forgive.

When we choose to forgive, we let go of the anger, bitterness, unforgiveness and resentments. We find a heavy load is lifted from our souls, spirits and inevitably our bodies. We walk free!!

Luke 6:37 says Judge not (neither pronouncing judgement nor subjecting to censure) and you will not be judged, do not condemn and pronounce guilty and you will not be condemned and pronounced guilty: acquit and forgive and release( give up resentment, let it drop) and you will be acquitted and forgiven and released.

Let’s pray today, “Dear Jesus, today I choose to forgive all who have hurt and wounded me. Heal me in Your love! On the cross You said “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”. I choose to forgive as you have forgiven me! I take these hurts, these deep wounds, bitterness, resentments, all this and leave it at the foot of Your cross. Thank you, Jesus for renewing me in Your love! Thank you for showering me with your compassion! Thank you that in You, I walk free!! In Jesus Name!

In Jesus we find true freedom!! We are lovingly healed and restored in the vastness of His love for us!! His love is now so rich in us, we overflow in the abundance of His love, grace and mercy on ourselves as well as others.

Let this be our lifestyle choice! We choose to forgive… moment by moment.. day by day. Keeping our relationship tight and right with Jesus and with those around us!

Choose forgiveness! Walk free!! Now that the weight is lifted, we walk in newness of life!! New freedom!

Now Go Mo Betta Girl, walking free in His Love and conquer your world!!

Embrace The Pause

In the midst of the corona virus pandemic, lives have been turned upside down. Layoffs, lost jobs, illness, lost lives, an uncertain tomorrow.

Everyone has been placed in a shelter down, self-isolate and self-quarantine status. It is a scary, uncertain time. What do we do?

As breast cancer survivors, we are considered part of the population that is vulnerable.

God wants you to know that He is with you. Be still and know that He is God. Press the Pause button. Embrace the pause. Turn your focus, your attention to God.

The definition for “pause” is to have a temporary stop in action.

As we have a temporary stop in action and wait on Him in this hour, He strengthens us and settles us in His love. Micah 7:7 says, “But as for me, I will look to the Lord and confident in Him I will keep watch, I will wait with hope and expectancy for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.”

I once heard of these acronyms for the word-“WAIT”- W for Wrapped.

                                                                                                  A for Around

                                                                                                  I for Immanuel’s

                                                                                                 T for Throne.

Let’s WAIT on the Lord. Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those that wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power: they shall lift up their wings and mount up close to God as eagles mount up to the sun; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.”

As we embrace the pause, we focus on and rest in the loving embrace of our God. He renews our strength. He changes and renews our perspective, our focus, our vision. We are able to mount up and soar like the eagles, far above life’s negative pulls and circumstances. God comes to lighten our load and broaden our horizons for this next season of our life’s journey.

Embrace the Pause in Him. Isaiah 33:2 says O Lord, be gracious to us, we have waited (expectantly) for You. Be the arm (of Your servants-their strength and defense) every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.

Dear Heavenly Father, be with my dear friend today. Enable her to embrace this season of pause and focus and wait on You. Thank you, Father that as she lay her burdens down at Your feet, You will show Yourself strong on her behalf. Renew her strength, change and broaden her vision and perspective You. Establish her in Your love as she waits with hope and expectancy. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Now go, MoBettaGirl and conquer your world.

Be Still

What are you facing today that is causing you to be anxious, fearful and unsettled?

The coronavirus crisis and its impact on those of us with “pre-existing conditions” can be down-right scary.

Jesus tells us in John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My (own) peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.”

God wants us to be still and know that He is God! Rest in confident trust in Him. He will guide you to all truth. Encourage yourself and say, “ I rest in the sovereignty of my God”!!

Are we going to trust in what we see around us, on the news, in the face masks or will we trust in our God?

Psalm 20:1-2,7 says “May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble: May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high (and defend you). Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh and strengthen you from Zion. Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will boast of the name of the Lord our God!

Our God is trustworthy!!

God wants you to know today that He sees you! He sees what you are facing and what you are going through! He loves you with an everlasting love. Trust Him. Obey Him. Praise Him! He will not fail you!

Psalm 23:4 Yes, though I walk through the (deep, sunless) valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me: Your rod (to protect) and Your staff (to guide), they comfort me.

Be still. Be at peace. Be comforted in the arms of Jesus! He rebukes your storm and provides you safe passage.

Now go, MoBettaGirl and conquer your world!

God Loves You

You are so precious to God. He loves you so much. Often, we go through circumstances in life when we question the Father’s love. Sickness, heartbreak, financial ruin. If God loved me, why would He allow this to happen to me? Sometimes we question the Father’s love.

I know when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I questioned God. I questioned His love for me. God can handle our moments of questioning His Sovereignty and Supremacy in our lives. God loves us and His love for us is unfailing. He showed me that He allowed circumstances in my life for a greater good and His Glory.

John 3:16 says “God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He (even) gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”

Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that “His plans for us are for good and not for evil to give us a future and an expected hope.”

I don’t know what you are walking through today, but know that God loves you. He is there with you in the midst of your storm, bringing peace and calm. It is His desire for you to walk victoriously. Rest in His love today.

1 Peter 5:7 admonishes us, “Casting the whole of your care (all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully).”

Romans 8:38-39 says, “For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers. Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.”

So, know today, precious friend that you are deeply loved by God! He loves you with an everlasting love.

This is my prayer for you today, “Dear Heavenly Father thank you for loving my precious friend. You love her so much that You sent Your only begotten Son Jesus for her. Keep her in Your love. Show her how much You love her in her life’s circumstance. Envelope her in Your love. Thank you for Your love. In Jesus Name!”

If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior today, make the decision today. Say, Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me so much that You came and died for my sins. I repent of my sins. Come into my heart and be Lord of my life. Thank you for being my Savior and my Lord.

You will experience the love of God as never before!!

Now go, MoBetta Girl, filled with the love of God and conquer your world!
