Where is the place you go that brings you peace, solace and joy?

In your mind’s eye, you see the turquoise ocean, you hear the sound of the surf, you see the palm trees swaying in the warm tropical breezes. Are you swinging on your favorite swing as you bask in the vastness of the lush countryside? Do you see the snow- covered mountain peaks as you explore? What does your place of peace look like?

What do you do when you are facing or going through a painful procedure, chemotherapy, radiation or feeling anxious, troubled?

The Word of God tells us in Philippians 4:6 not to fret or have anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:8 says “For the rest brethren,, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue of excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things (fix your mind on them).”

What do you do?? GIVE IT TO GOD! “Father, I can’t do this on my own, I give this to you! Thank you for being with me in this!” Then know that God is with you bringing you His peace of mind.

God will help you FIX YOUR MIND (use your imagination) on your place of solace. You see the palm trees swaying in the wind, you hear the sounds of the surf. You are at peace in Him. Now, the procedure is over, the chemotherapy completed, the blood tests done, the anxious thoughts passed. Conquered triumphantly in Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father, be with my dear friend today, give her your mind, your imagination. Thank you for keeping her as she goes thru, holding her close to Your Heart and comforting her in Your love, in that place of solace and peace. Thank you for bringing her safely thru in You. In Jesus Name!

Sometimes, the daily grind and the hustle and bustle of life wears us out. Then to top it off, chemotherapy and radiation can and often will make you physically sick and tired. The chemotherapy drugs cause nausea, weakens your immune system and leave you feeling tired, fatigued, weak and often in pain.

Who can experience joy at a time like this? A diagnosis of breast cancer. An uncertain tomorrow. Chemotherapy, radiation, hair loss, nausea and all the other side effects that go along with the process of treatment of breast cancer.

There are times in our lives when what takes place is beyond our control. We expect certain things to take place and when they don’t, we are disappointed, confused and not sure where God is at in the mix.

There is something about good music that lightens the load and makes everything OK with the world.

What did you first think when you received the breast cancer diagnosis? Did you agonize over it? Do you agonize over it still?
